Resurfacing and Coefficient

Quartzite is a popular stone walking surface throughout Waikiki and Hawaii’s resort properties. Due to its texture, it’s challenging to remove stains and avoid soil build-up on quartzite.

Resurfacing Aulani’s pool decks and walking areas removed soil build-up and increased the coefficient. At about 21 acres, Aulani is massive with many pools, recreation areas, and walkways. James Thomas Stone approached the project area by area. After an area was resurfaced and cleaned, a coefficient test was conducted to ensure improved safety.
